Sheryl (Niki)'s Story
I always wanted to be a social worker when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a too difficult of direction idea to attept. As it turns out, they were correct it is difficult to deal with other people's concerns and try not to become too emotionally involved. I was in a life altering car wreck 26 years ago. After too complete years of diability I came out of the comma and learned to walk and talk again. Drinking teenage girls were chasing boys and ran a stop sign at 88 miles an hour. In 1986 the speedometers only went to 90 miles. I became a drug and alcohol counselor young adluts 13- 27 yrs. I have done this in addition to my daily job on weekends from 10pm to 2am. I take the youth in the emergency room to show them the results of people using and abusing drug and alcohol. ie: (child abuse, spousal abuse, car wrecks, assault, drug overdose. attempted suicides and alcohol poisoning).
It is very beneficial for the youth on Homecoming & Prom nights as well as other special school dances to see the victims of several of the above items to have their pretty party dresses and Tuxedos cut up with scissors to remove the victims from their garments in the emergency room. I have done this for going on 14 years. If I have influenced even one of the the 52 kids a year I work with to do the "right thing" it has been worth every minute
Dancing
I was a dance teacher in 1978 during the Disco era- I belonged to a dance group in Portland 1977 TO 1979 We taught disco dance class at Portland State. We took a bus tour at the end of each class to introduce OUR STUDENTS TO THE NGIHT TIME CLUB LIFE TO PRACTISE THEIR NEW HUSTLE AND kICK bUMP. OUR Professional Group called the 'DISCO KIDS " preformed at all the club openings in Portland that year at places called Earthequake Ethel's -Beaverton-- Slabtown-Portland - Red Caboose and Cattle Co Vancouver.
Sold tickets in Salem where my family was from and Eugne and had people slam the door in my face as they thought when said I said sellling tickets for hoemcoming queen they heard Hill Crest ( is a reform school-juvenile jail for way ward girls)not Gilchrist

Moved to Vancouver and spent 20 years with my second husband and have lived in Vancouver for over 34 years
My wreck in 1983. I had complete memory loss and not crertain what I remember or have been told --- as my memory remembers is what I have been told and have pictures of or videos or super 8 pictures.
They tell me I had head injuries and didnt talk in anything but numbers for months and had to be taught to walk and talk all over again like a small child. I can imagine not being able to talk or for people to understnad me as I didnt know my own 5 children at the time.
If I won $100 million, I'd give 10% of it to church , then spend the rest on real estate investments , travleing and my family trust funds for each.
With my kids and grandkids watching them grow
My current age is 59. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be ill or deceased. I was so completely wrong life gets better not older.
He is single and I am not but wish I didn't have to leave my kids to be with him. Cant move away from the kids.
As a real estate broker and office manager for Investwest Management that handles over 500 rental units - -backgorund checks, evictions, and inventory when moved people out forcefully by the law and had to lock up personl effects until they paid the past rent. Never a dull moment
Would have gotten married to my High School sweetheart.
My first job was at Cresent lake railroad restaurant that has burnt down , where I got paid .75 cents an hour to waitress . What I remember most about it is Tips $3- $5 day was more than I made in wages .
11 years old and my father I was told died is why my stepfather adopted me -- was introduced to me by my mother in a car that a mechanic was testing driving for us after repair and I was told he was my father !!
